The Curious Collective aligns with Anti-Racist, Anti-Oppression (ARAO) frameworks. We recognize, acknowledge, and seek to critically engage with the issues of racism, ableism/neuroableism and other oppressions that reduce access, equality, and participation for traditionally marginalized communities. We stand in solidarity and support empowerment of the diverse, neurodivergent community we identify with.
We acknowledge the sacred land and traditional Indigenous territories across the province. We acknowledge that there are 46 treaties and other agreements that cover the territory now called Ontario. The Curious Collective is deeply thankful to the First Nations, Metis and Inuit people who have cared for these territories for centuries, who continue to contribute to the resilience of communities across the province, and throughout Turtle Island (North America).
We stand in solidarity with murdered and missing Indigenous women, girls, transgender and two-spirit people. The Collective self-identifies as settlers: we strive to keep learning more about the rich history of this land so that we can do better as allies to the Indigenous community and as fellow land caretakers.
